Sri Lanka’s motor vehicle population grew by 7% to 7.2 million In 2017.

This was noted in the latest edition of the annual report on the country’s motor vehicle market published by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

The year 2017 saw a rise in import expenditure (5%) despite a fall in import volume (11%) with yearly new registrations declining by 9%.
