Three more coronavirus deaths reported in Colombo

Three more coronavirus deaths have been reported from Colombo, increasing the total death toll in Sri Lanka to 157. Loans offered to all families at low interest for festive season

Loans have been made available to all families at a low interest rate for the festive season, the President’s Office said. The loans will be offered by State banks in three categories based on the monthly income. Infected person escapes from Welisara hospital

A Covid patient is reported to have escaped from the National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases in Welisara. Police Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said the patient had escaped from the chest hospital around 3.30pm yesterday. The 43-year-old Covid patient is said to have been receiving treatment at the hospital, during which he was detected with the virus.
