Eight injured as bus overturns

Eight people were injured when a passenger bus overturned in Omanthai, Vavuniya this morning, the police media unit said. The police said that 30 passengers were in the bus at the time of the accident and it was heading to Jaffna. According to the police the private bus had veered off the road and overturned injuring the eight passengers. Of those injured were seven men and a woman. PM assures religious freedom

The government today assured it will protect religious freedom in the country after a demand by Buddhists monks to remove a mosque in central Sri Lanka had created controversy.
