Gota appears before FCID to record statement on misuse of funds

Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa appeared before the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) today.

Rajapaksa was given notice to appear before the FCID to record a statement over the alleged misuse of Government funds for the D.A Rajapaksa museum when he was the Defence Secretary.

Rajapaksa left the FCID office after being questioned for approximately three hours.

The Court of Appeal recently extended a stay order preventing the arrest of Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The former Defence Secretary had filed a writ petition seeking an interim order preventing the police from arresting him under the Public Properties Act in connection with the investigation into the misappropriation of public funds for the construction of the D.A. Drop in numbers linked to reduction in PCR tests

Aluthgamage acquitted in case over misappropriation of funds

The Colombo High Court today (25) acquitted Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage over the case filed on the misappropriation of trade union funds. Aluthgamage, the Minister of Agriculture, was accused of misappropriation of funds belonging to a trade union.
