Main suspect remanded over attack on Kataragama monk

The main suspect who was arrested over the Kataragama temple shooting incident has been ordered to be remanded till June 20, the Police said.

The Police said that the main suspect, Asela Sampath, and two others have been remanded.

The Police had earlier found weapons inside the house of the main suspect.

The chief incumbent of the?Kiriwehera temple in Kataragama and another monk were admitted to hospital after being shot at by the gunmen recently.

A van used for the crime was later found by the Police.?(Colombo Gazette)
