ICTA Chairman resigns saying he will stand by his principles

The Chairman of the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) Oshada Senanayake has tendered his resignation. PUCSL rejects CEB request for 7-hour power cut

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has rejected a request from the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to enforce a 7-hour power cut tomorrow. The PUCSL said that the CEB has been directed to enforce power cuts below 5 hours ?(3/4 hours day time and 1/2 hours night before 10pm) spread over two time slots for consumer convenience.

Man electrocuted while protesting near President’s house

A man has been electrocuted while protesting near President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s house in Mirihana. The 53-year-old individual died after protesting against the ongoing power cuts. According to the Police, the individual had been intoxicated at the time of the incident The Police said that the man had?climbed onto an electricity transformer and was electrocuted.
