Ranil plays down rift in Government, says will address issues

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today played down a rift in the unity Government and asserted that efforts are underway to resolve the issues.

Wickremesinghe noted that in politics there will always be rifts and that is normal.

The Prime Minister was speaking at an event held at Temple Trees today.

Wickremesinghe said that the focus of the Government is to take forward the process to develop the country.

He noted that the public gave the unity Government a mandate to develop the country and so he has advised his Ministers to focus on the development process.

The Prime Minister said that the development drive of the Government will be accelerated over the next 18 months.

He said that the Government has already launched several projects including the Hambantota investment zone project and the Central Expressway project. (Colombo Gazette)
