The State of Emergency imposed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa earlier this month, has lapsed with effect from last night. Protests in several parts of the country demanding gas, fuel

Protests are being staged in several parts of the country demanding gas and fuel. A number of roads were blocked by protesters obstructing vehicular movements. Protesters placed gas cylinders and other obstacles and blocked roads in Nawala, Narahenpita, Baseline Road, Galle, and a few other areas. CID records statement from Namal over Galle Face incident

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) recorded a statement today from former Minister Namal Rajapaksa over the Galle Face incident. Former Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi was questioned by the CID yesterday together with her husband Kanchana Jayaratne. Parliamentarians Rohitha Abeygunawardena, C.B.
