Former Maldives President Nasheed holds talks with Colombo Mayor

Former Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed had talks with Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake in Colombo.

Nasheed tweeted saying among the matters they discussed was the merits of a low carbon development strategy.

“Privileged to meet , Mayor of Colombo. Colombo now hosts the second largest population of Maldivians. Discussed long standing historical, commercial and cultural ties between the Maldives and Sri Lanka and the merits of a low carbon development strategy,” Nasheed tweeted.

Nasheed lives in exile in the UK and Sri Lanka as he is wanted in the Maldives over a crime he says he did not commit. (Colombo Gazette)
