Two women arrested at BIA for attempting to smuggle gold

The Police Narcotics Bureau arrested two women at the?Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) while they attempted to smuggle gold into the country.

The two Sri Lankan women had arrived from Singapore and had in their possession 1.1kg of gold.

The gold is estimated to be worth around Rs 10 million, officials said.
