SLFP Ministers meet President after cabinet meeting

Sri Lanka Freedom Ministers (SLFP) Ministers met President Maithripala Sirisena today after the cabinet meeting.

The SLFP Ministers had discussed the future of the unity Government and the proposed cabinet reshuffle.

The SLFP Ministers had boycotted the last cabinet meeting but attended the cabinet meeting today.

President Maithripala Sirisena had appointed an SLFP committee to decide on the future of the unity Government.

The proposals of the committee were expected to be discussed today.

A group of SLFP members who resigned from their Ministerial posts are calling on the SLFP to leave the Government and work against the United National Party.

The former SLFP Ministers have decided to sit in the opposition benches in Parliament. They also want all the factions in the SLFP to unite, (Colombo Gazette)
