Litro gas prices to be reduced from today

Litro Gas today announced that as per the provision made in the Budget ? 2016 presented by the Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake Gas prices have been reduced with effect from today. The Executive Chairman of the Litro Gas Co Mr Shalila Munasinghe said that accordingly, the price of the 12.5 kg Cylinder of domestic Gas will be Rs 1346.00 within the Colombo area. Prices of the 5 kg and the 2.5 kg Cylinders will be Rs 572.00 and Rs 273.00 respectively.

President, UK envoy discuss UN Resolution

Duty free shop employee detained at BIA

A duty free shop employee was detained on arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) by Air Force officers and produced to customs officers with a large amount of foreign currency. The 58 year old resident of Naththandiya had foreign currency valued at Rs. 11, 527,397.00 concealed in his pocket and shoes. The authorities found USD 1,500, AU$11,000, S$ 15,000, Euro 28,500 and US$ 29,350. Investigations are being carried out by the Deputy Director of Customs Mihira Piyarathne, D.M.S
