Lord Naseby notes failure to give true picture on Sri Lanka to Geneva

Lord Baron Naseby, a member of the British House of Lords, noted that the true picture on Sri Lanka has not been given to Geneva and this has resulted in Sri Lanka facing criticism at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Lord Naseby expressed this view when he met President Maithripala Sirisena in London on the sidelines of the Commonwealth summit.

President Maithripala Sirisena thanked Lord Naseby for his constant support for Sri Lanka.

Lord Baron Naseby, appreciating the development programme conducted by Sri Lanka, assured to provide his fullest assistance as a true ally of Sri Lanka.

He also appreciated the reconciliation efforts of the Government and said that the steps taken by Sri Lanka following the war was commendable and was on par with international standards. (Colombo Gazette)
