SLFP Ministers decide to boycott cabinet meeting this week

Sri Lanka Freedom Party Ministers (SLFP) Ministers have decided to boycott the cabinet meeting this week.

The SLFP is to hold its Central Committee meeting on Wednesday to discuss the next step.

The cabinet meeting this week would be the first since some SLFP Ministers backed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Some United National Party (UNP) Parliamentarians have called on the SLFP Ministers to be removed from the Government.

SLFP Ministers Dayasiri Jayasekera, S.B Dissanayake and Anura Priyadharshana Yapa were among those who voted for the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Meanwhile, a cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place this week. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Why do they want to boycott. If they have an iota of self respect they should have resigned from the Cabinet after voting against the Prime Minister. They are begging the President to keep them as Ministers because their greed for all the perks. If they remain in the cabinet they will jeopardise the moves to catch the robbers of the previous regime.
