SLFP Ministers who backed motion on PM seek removal from posts

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Ministers who voted in support of a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, have written to President Maithripala Sirisena requesting that they be removed from their Ministerial posts.

Several key Ministers of the SLFP, including?Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera and Ministers S.B. Dissanayake and Anura Priyadharshana Yapa,? voted for the?no-confidence motion?against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The motion was defeated and the SLFP Ministers had said they were prepared to resign if they are asked to do so by President Maithripala Sirisena.?(Colombo Gazette)

Consensus reached to discuss power devolution

A consensus was reached in Parliament today to discuss power devolution with the intention of reaching a final solution at the earliest. President Ranil Wickremesinghe invited the opposition to attend talks after the final vote on the 2023 Budget on 8th December.
