JVP to submit 20th Amendment to Parliament this month

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) says it hopes to submit the proposed 20th Amendment to Parliament this month.

JVP Parliamentarian, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said that the draft is almost complete and is likely to be presented to Parliament this month.

The 20th Amendment looks to abolish the Executive Presidency. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Its a waste of time. President wants to hold unto the position and the Rajapaksa’s want the position and when the cronies of these two parties get together JVP will not have enough votes to pass it even if the UNP and all minor parties support it.
