JVP accuses President of betraying the country and its people

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today accused President Maithripala Sirisena of betraying the country and its people.

JVP member Bimal Ratnayake told Parliament that Sirisena was the biggest “Judas” as he had gone against the expectations of the people who elected him to power.

Ratnayake said that the JVP will vote in support of the no-confidence motion in principle.

He said that even before the no-confidence motion was submitted to Parliament the JVP had decided it will back a no-confidence motion on the Prime Minister.

Ratnayake said that the JVP had lost confidence on the President and Prime Minister and so will support the no-confidence motion. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. The people had lost confidence in the JVP long time ago way before the NCM. Forty six years have passed since 71 what have you got to show for it?

Your not in the forefront as a leading party nor have you got a clear vision for the country.
