Remand extended for Southern Provincial Councillor and wife

The?Kaduwela Additional Magistrate today extended the remand of?Southern Provincial Councillor M K Kasun and his wife Tharaka Perera till April 3rd.

Kasun and his wife were captured on camera assaulting a private bus driver at the Koswatte Junction in Battaramulla recently.

The wife of the Provincial Councillor had assaulted the bus driver for not giving way for the SUV she and her husband were travelling in.

A gun was seen in the hand of the Provincial Councillors wife.?(Colombo Gazette)

Karunanayake sees conspiracy which will lead to his arrest

Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake says there is a conspiracy underway which will eventually lead to his arrest. He says a?major mudslinging campaign is being carried out stating that he gave false evidence before the Presidential commission which investigated the alleged treasury bond issue. Stay order against arrest of Gotabaya further extended

A stay order issued by the Court of Appeal preventing the arrest of former?Secretary of Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa, has been further extended February 15. The stay order had earlier been extended from December 15 till?today. The stay order was issued to the?Financial Crimes Investigation Department (FCID) against arresting?Rajapaksa?over the alleged misappropriation of public funds.
