The popularity and fan-following of these two goes beyond the boundaries of India. The star couple, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, has been invited by Sri Lanka’s sports minister, Dayasiri Jaysekera, for a holiday in their beautiful land, sportswallah.com reported.
“I am not inviting Kohli to play, but I want him to spend a few days here with his wife, Anushka Sharma. After his marriage, he has not visited this country. The couple can be guests of this nation. There are several good places to see here,” said Jaysekera. The minister is a great fan of the Indian captain.
Virat can give this offer a serious thought as he has already acknowledged that his workload has started taking a toll on his health.
According to Cricbuzz, Virat said, “Physically, I have a few niggles, I am just getting over those. The workload has started to disagree with me a little bit. I have to be very careful about how I go forward with my body, my mind and my cricket.” Kohli has been rested in the ongoing Nidahas Trophy T20I tri-series, which includes Bangladesh and host Sri Lanka.
Kohli admitted that the break is helping him recover for fresh challenges ahead. The star cricketer will next be seen in action in the upcoming indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, where is leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side. Kohli had been rested for the Nidahas Trophy aling with MS Dhoniand other star cricketers. Rohit Sharma is leading Team India in Kohli’s absence. (Colombo Gazette)
