The Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) says the participation of the General Secretary of the BBS, the Venerable Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera at an event attended by President Maithripala Sirisena in Japan was not pre-planned.
President Sirisena met the Sri Lankan community in Japan at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo on Tuesday.
He also met with the Chief Incumbents of the Sri Lanka Buddhist Temples in Japan in Tokyo.
Photographs appeared on some websites and social media showing the Venerable Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera at the events where President Sirisena spoke.
However the BBS insisted that the monk was not scheduled to attend the events but so happened to be in Japan at the same time and was at the events. (Colombo Gazette)
