Ranjith Madduma Bandara appointed Law and Order Minister

Minister of Public Administration and Management Ranjith Madduma Bandara was today appointed as the new Minister of Law and Order by President Maithripala Sirisena.

The letter of appointment was handed over to the Minister by the President.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Secretary to the President Austin Fernando were present on this occasion.

Wickremesinghe? held the post earlier and it was expected to be given to former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka.

However it was reported that the President was not keen to give the post to Fonseka.?(Colombo Gazette)

Danushka returns to court as new details emerge

Sri Lanka pushing to reach final deal with IMF in December

Sri Lanka is pushing to reach a final agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in December.
