PM says those who used social media to spread hate questioned

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the Police are questioning a few people who had used social media to spread hate among communities.

In a special statement today, the Prime Minister said that the Kandy situation escalated as a result of a hate campaign carried out on social media.

He said that a few incidents had been reported in some parts of Kandy last night yet the situation was brought under control.

Wickremesinghe said that he had a discussion with the new Law and Order Minister and further steps are being taken with regards to the violence in Kandy.

He said the violence had caused a negative impact to the economy, tourism and to local society. (Colombo Gazette)

Court of Appeal to decide on Hejaaz’s bail on 7th February

Danu files Police complaint against Pushpika

Daily Mirror presenter and host Danu Innasithamby has filed a Police complaint against Mrs. Sri Lanka Pushpika De Silva.
