Fonseka disappointed, says will decide on future

Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka says he is disappointed at not being appointed the new Law and Order Minister.

Fonseka said that he will decide on his future by putting the country first.

The former Army Commander was widely expected to be made the new Law and Order Minister.

However Minister of Public Administration and Management Ranjith Madduma Bandara was today appointed as the new Minister of Law and Order.

Fonseka said that Madduma Bandara did not know he was going to be appointed as the Minister of Law and Order till he got the appointment letter today.

There were reports that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) did not want Fonseka to get the post.

However Fonseka insisted that only those close to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa did not want to see him getting the key post. (Colombo Gazette)
