Suspect arrested over death of nine year old boy in Chilaw

A suspect has been arrested over the recent death of a nine year old boy in Chilaw.

The nine year old boy who was reported missing in the Chilaw area had later been found dead.

The boy had been reported missing by his family and his body had later been been found in a jungle in Iranawila, Chilaw.

Police suspect the boy had been abducted and murdered.

Eyewitnesses had said that the boy had been with an unidentified man who is believed to have killed him.?(Colombo Gazette)

Three policemen interdicted over assault on autistic boy

Three policemen have been interdicted over the assault on an autistic boy in Aluthgama. The Police media unit said that inquiries had revealed the Police had failed in their duties and as a result three policemen involved in the incident have been interdicted. The boy, 14 year-old Thariq Ahamed, had been assaulted by the Police in Aluthgama while he was on the street during curfew on 25 May.
