Cabinet approves amended National Audit Draft Bill

The cabinet, which met today, has?approved the amended National Audit Draft Bill, the Government said.

The National Audit Bill has already been amended several times.

The Sri Lanka Audit Service had been quoted in the media recently as accusing President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe of failing to get the Draft National Audit Bill passed in Parliament even though three years had passed. (Colombo Gazette)

No evidence to back any allegation against Dr. Shafi

Court to decide on arrest warrant for Mahendran

The Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar is to decide next month on issuing an arrest warrant ?on Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran. The decision by the court is to be made on August 9. The Attorney General had earlier filed indictments against Mahendran and nine others before the Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar over the Central Bank treasury bond scam.

State Intelligence Chief questioned by PSC at secret location

State Intelligence Service (SIS) chief Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena has been questioned by the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) on the Easter Sunday attacks, at a secret location last night. Jayawardena was questioned by the PSC last night for about four hours. The recording of the statement was not open to the media.
