Providing Tabs to A/L students and teachers put on hold

A Government programme launched to provide Tabs to Advanced Level (A/L) students and teachers has been suspended.

The decision to suspend the programme was taken by the cabinet.

The Government had decided last year to prioritize education and give free tablet computers to students and teachers.

The Government had set a target to provide Tablets to 175,000 A Level students and 28,000 teachers. (Colombo Gazette)
