Sri Lankan housemaid commits suicide by hanging in Kuwait

A Sri Lankan housemaid committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room using a rope inside her sponsor?s house in the Rabya area in Kuwait, Arab Times reported.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from the sponsor about the incident, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and found the corpse of the housemaid dangling from the ceiling of her room with a noose around her neck.

The corpse was pulled down and referred to the Forensics Department. A case was registered to determine the reason for her suicide. (Colombo Gazette)

Search operations to be conducted around schools

The Police and security forces are to conduct search operations around schools tomorrow. Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera said that the search operations will be focused mostly on Colombo schools. He said that vehicles will not be permitted to park around Colombo schools from 1pm tomorrow (Sunday). Suspected training camp of Zahran Hashim found

A suspected training camp of Zahran Hashim, the mastermind behind the Easter Sunday attacks, was found in Kattankudy, Batticaloa. The camp had been used as a farm but the Police believe it was also used as a training camp by Zahran Hashim and his followers. The Police and Special Task Force raided the location today.
