President Maithripala Sirisena has said he was prepared to make key changes in the Government after the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) suffered a humiliating defeat at the Local Government (LG) elections.
The President met SLFP Ministers in Colombo today and discussed the loss suffered by his party.
Overall the SLFP-led United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) was pushed behind the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and the United National Party (UNP) at the elections.
SLFP Ministers who attended the meeting with the President said that Sirisena agreed to make some key changes in the Government over the next few days. (Colombo Gazette)
