During treasury bond debate Ravi says truth will prevail

During the debate in Parliament today on the treasury bond report, former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake expressed confidence truth will prevail.

He also slammed the recommendation by a committee appointed by the United National Party (UNP) that he stop functioning as the Assistant Leader of the party.

“This is a joke,” Karunanayake said with regards to the recommendation by the committee appointed by the UNP.

The Presidential Commission which investigated the scam had named Karunanayake among those accused in the scam and proposed that legal action be taken against him.

Parliament convened today to debate the report by the Presidential Commission.

Parliament debated the report of the Presidential Commission which investigated the treasury bond scam and the report of the Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate into serious acts of fraud and corruption. (Colombo Gazette)
