Mahinda says he never advised anyone to do things slowly

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says he never gave advise to anyone to do things slowly.

Speaking at an election rally in Galle, Rajapaksa quoted President Maithripala Sirisena of accusing him of telling officials to delay implementing some projects when he was in power.

“I am not someone who does things slowly. I would also never advise any boy to do it slowly,” Rajapaksa said jokingly.

The former President later urged the media not to report the last part of his speech as it may be misunderstood.

Rajapaksa said he did not mean anything wrong by that statement but was only responding to what the President had accused him of. (Colombo Gazette)

Former Senior DIG Lalith Jayasinghe arrested over murder

Former Senior Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Lalith Jayasinghe was arrested today in connection to a murder investigation. Jayasinghe was arrested by the Police Special Investigations Unit (SIU) after being questioned over a murder involving former Deputy Minister Premalal Jayasekera.
