Bodybuilder denies allegations against him

Sri Lankan bodybuilder Lucion Pushparaj denied allegations he had taken a banned substance to enhance his performance.

Pushparaj told The Sunday Leader online that he was accused of taking?performance-enhancing drugs by the?Sri Lanka Body Building Federation.

He accused the federation of attempting to tarnish his image and prevent him from taking part in international events representing Sri Lanka.

The bodybuilder said that if not for his sponsor, Riococo Worldwide, he would not have been able to participate at?an event in the US.

“I want to bring fame to my country. I have no interest in medals or do not seek personal glory. I cried when the federation refused to allow me to represent my country. However I did not give up,” he said.

Lucion Pushparaj? said that with the help of his sponsor he traveled to the USA and raised the Sri Lanka flag at the global ‘Mr. Atlas’ competition.

Lucion Pushparaj says there are five international bodybuilding events this year and of them becoming?Mr. Olympia is his main goal.

Ranjit Fernando appointed Sri Lanka manager
