PAFFREL urges IGP to ensure LG polls are free and fair

People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) today urged?Inspector General of Police (IGP)?Pujith Jayasundara to take steps to ensure the Local Government (LG) elections is free and fair.

PAFFREL met the IGP at the Police Headquarters today and had talks with regards to the election.

The IGP was also urged to investigate reports of processions being staged by some political parties when nominations were handed over, violating election laws.

The IGP was also urged to investigate if any of the candidates contesting the elections in February have a criminal background. (Colombo Gazette)?

HRCSL to investigate complaints related to Kandy incidents
