Presidential commission to probe SriLankan, Mihin Lanka

President Maithripala Sirisena says a Presidential commission will be appointed to investigate allegations involving SriLankan Airlines and Mihin Lanka.

He says the commission will be appointed once the Presidential commission which investigated the alleged treasury bond scam hands over its final report.

Minister of Public Enterprise Development Kabir Hashim had earlier this year called for strict action to be taken against a “mafia” at SriLankan Airlines.

The Minister had also said that his hands were tied in some aspects and so he was unable to do what he wanted to do.

Hashim had said that action must be taken against some former and current SriLankan Airlines officials based on the J.C. Weliamuna Report on the National airline. (Colombo Gazette)
