President wants transparency in distribution of foreign aid

President Maithripala Sirisena has given instructions to officials to expedite the programme to build new houses for the affected people in the recent disastrous situation. Furthermore, the President said that five billion rupees from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, which is under the purview of President Sirisena will be donated to this programme. Bribery Commission files case against Keheliya on telephone bill

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has filed a case against former Media Minster Keheliya Rambukwella over a huge telephone bill. Rambukwella has been accused of using State Printing Corporation funds to pay a telephone bill over Rs. 230,000 when he was a Minister in the former Government. The case has been fixed for July 17.
