Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D Wickramaratne has instructed the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to arrest those responsible for the Rambukkana shooting incident. No power cuts on May Day and Ramadan

Power cuts will not be enforced on May Day and Ramadan, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) said. Accordingly, there will not be power cuts on 1st May and 3rd May. It was decided not to enforce power cuts on those two days as the demand for electricity will be less. Both days are public holidays while 1st May is also a Mercantile holiday being a Sunday.
