Chandrika briefs UN Secretary General on reconciliation efforts

Chairperson of Office for National Unity and Reconciliation (ONUR) Madam Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga met with the UN Secretary General António Guterres in New York.

During the meeting the Secretary General was briefed about the reconciliation efforts taken by the Government of Sri Lanka and the work carried out by ONUR, which he appreciated.

Madam Kumaratunga just concluded her visit to USA and will return to Sri Lanka shortly. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Until 2015 she said she is ashamed to be a Sri Lankan. Then joined Ranil and Sirisena to betray Sri Lanka to USA and UN. What can we expect from such a person shaking hands with organisations planing to divide Sri Lanka? If she fought with Tamil Tigers how come she is walking free in Jaffna area now? Why she is accepted as a friend of Tamil people while many other leaders such as Rajapaksa are considered enemies by Tamil people. Has she ever suggested to settle Sinhalese people in North, which has to be the real reconciliation attempt for the problem.
