President Maithripala Sirisena left for Japan today on his last visit as head of state before the Presidential election. Two flights diverted to Mattala owing to poor weather at BIA

Two passenger flights were diverted to the Mattala airport owing to poor weather at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning. Officials said that two SriLankan Airlines flights arriving from from Riyadh and Kuwait were diverted to Mattala. Both flights however returned to BIA later.
