Circular against pumping fuel into bottles, cans withdrawn

The circular issued today preventing fuel from being pumped into bottles and cans until the fuel crisis is over, has been withdrawn.

The?Petroleum Resources Development Ministry said that a circular was issued earlier today allowing petrol to be pumped directly only into vehicles.

However this evening the?circular was withdrawn.

Over the past few days several people have been pumping fuel into bottles and cans and fuel stations.

Some people had been forced to take bottles as their vehicles had stalled after running out of petrol.?(Colombo Gazette)

Navy arrests 23 Indian fishermen poaching in Sri Lankan waters

The?Navy arrested 23 Indian fishermen poaching in Sri Lankan waters last night, the Navy media unit said. The Navy said that a Fast Attack Craft attached to the Northern Naval Command arrested the 23 Indian fishermen along with 05 trawlers for engaging in illegal fishing in Sri Lankan territorial waters north and northwest of Delft Island.
