Sri Lanka and India looking to sort issues in ETCA deal

Sri Lanka and India are discussing issues related to some aspects of the proposed Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA).

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told reporters today Sri Lanka wants to ensure it stands to gain  from the agreement so some issues are being discussed.

The Prime Minister also insisted that there is no move to give the Trincomalee harbour to India.

He said that India and some other countries have only been invited to develop the Trincomalee harbour and discussions are ongoing in this regard. (Colombo Gazette)
