Coronavirus death toll in Sri Lanka rises to 450

The coronavirus death toll in Sri Lanka rose to 450 today, the Government Information Department said. The Government said that five new deaths linked to the virus were confirmed today. An 82-year-old woman from Nugegoda had died at her residence on 19th February. The cause of death has been reported as Covid pneumonia. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa have received the COVID-19 vaccine. Cops detain youth from Wattala for promoting LTTE on TikTok

The Police have arrested a youth for promoting the LTTE using the video-sharing social networking service TikTok. Police Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said that the youth was arrested in Wattala. He was arrested after the content was observed by the cyber patrol unit of the Police.
