Sri Lanka today said it will look to build stronger ties with Japan under re-elected Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s ruling coalition won a majority in Parliament after capturing more than 300 of the 465 seats in Japan’s lower house that were up for grabs on Sunday.
Following the win, President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe tweeted congratulatory remarks.
“Heartfelt congratulations to Japan’s Prime Minister
@AbeShinzo for his landslide victory in the country’s general elections,” President Sirisena tweeted.
