Parliament will convene for only one day this week, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said. He said the decision was taken during a party leaders meeting held today. Coronavirus death toll in Sri Lanka reaches 1,742

The coronavirus death toll in Sri Lanka reached 1,742 today, the Ministry of Health said. According to the Ministry of Health, another 46 deaths linked to the virus have been confirmed. The 46 deaths had occurred between 17 May and 5 June of which 15 deaths had occurred on 4th June. The latest victims included 23 females and 23 males. Ranil proposes appointing Parliament committee to probe fire

Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has called for the appointment of a Parliamentary Select Committee to look into the fire on the X-Press Pearl.
