PM appeals to Parliament to work together for political solution

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today appealed to Parliament to work together to achieve a political solution for the national issue.

The Prime Minister made the appeal when he addressed Parliament today during a special sitting of Parliament to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Parliamentary Democracy in Sri Lanka.

Wickremesinghe said that the while the country defeated terrorism in order to protect democracy, it has not been able to address the national issue.

“We must put forward a political solution to address the national issue,” he said.

The Prime Minister noted that President Maithripala Sirisena is also committed to ensure a political solution is put forward.

  1. This country leaders were eager to have independence(power) without assessing their ability to lead. Subsequently, they fought the Asia’s longest brutal civil war which lasted more than three decades. I have been living in Sri Lanka since 2015; according to my experience this country has the most darkest minds. Therefore, sharing power will lead to a bloody disaster. Increasing FDI, developing the country and educating the dark minds is the only solution.
