PM appeals to Parliament to work together for political solution

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today appealed to Parliament?to work together to achieve a political solution for the national issue.

The Prime Minister made the appeal when he addressed Parliament today during a special sitting of Parliament to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Parliamentary Democracy in Sri Lanka.

Wickremesinghe said that the while the country defeated terrorism in order to protect democracy, it has not been able to address the?national issue.

“We must put forward a political solution to address the?national issue,” he said.

The Prime Minister noted that President Maithripala Sirisena is also committed to ensure a?political solution is put forward.

Parliament Speakers from the SAARC countries also attended the special session today. (Colombo Gazette)

Children over 12 years to be vaccinated for Covid

Children over the age of 12 will be vaccinated for Covid, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said. He said that children with various complications would be given priority.
