Australia and Sri Lanka to sign new agreement on human smuggling

Australia and Sri Lanka will sign a new agreement to counter human smuggling, Cabinet co-spokesman Gayantha Karunatillake said today.

The proposal made by President Maithripala Sirisena, as the minister of Defence, to sign a memorandum of understanding between Sri Lanka and Australian for fighting against transnational crimes including human trafficking, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. Colombo Gazette)
