Police to launch raids on parties violating quarantine law

The Police are to launch raids on parties held in violation of the quarantine law, over the next few days. Police Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said that raids will be carried out from today until Thursday. He said that a special Police team has been deployed to raid parties and gatherings being held, especially at night, in violation of the quarantine law. Maldivian flight arrives in Mattala with seafarers

A Maldivian charter flight arrived in Mattala today with a group of seafarers. The Airport and Aviation Services said the seafarers arrived on Maldivian Airlines operated scheduled charter flight Q2 6944. The flight carrying the seafarers had arrived from the Velana International Airport in the Maldives. Stating that the Mattala airport is slowly but steadily attracting scheduled operations with different carriers, the Airport and Aviation Services added that future operations look promising

Nineteen arrivals test positive for the coronavirus

Nineteen arrivals tested positive for the coronavirus yesterday, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of Covid-19 said today. The National Operations Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19 said that 549 people tested positive for the virus in Sri Lanka yesterday. Of the 549 people, 19 were Sri Lankans who had arrived from overseas. Meanwhile, of the 549 infected persons 237 were from the Colombo District, 124 from the Gampaha District, 44 from Kandy and 125 from various other places.
