Pakistani national arrested at BIA with heroin

A?Pakistani national was arrested at?the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with heroin, the Police said today. The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) arrested the Pakistani man when he arrived in Sri Lanka. PNB officers found 2.426 kgs of heroin concealed in the suspect’s luggage. The heroin stock was said to be worth about Rs. 30 million.

Woman hacked to death in Ja-Ela

A woman was hacked to death in Rajamawatha-Kanuwana in Ja-Ela this evening, the Police said. The Police said that the woman had been killed while she was walking along the street. The Police identified the victim as?60 year old Indra Pauleen de Silva Wickrematilake.
