Heavy rains, strong winds to lash most parts of the country

The Department of Meteorology says showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces.
Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly after 2.00 p.m this afternoon.
Heavy falls (more than 100 mm) are expected at some places, particularly in the Western, Southern, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Badulla, Trincomalee and Mullaitivu districts.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
Meanwhile, on the apparent southward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 27th of August and 06th of September in this year.
The nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun is almost overhead tomorrow (04th) are Kollupitiya, Manning Town, Hanwella, Getahetta, Udapola, Laxananagalla, Keppetipola, Demodara, Bibilegama, Alupotha, Noongahakiula and Hiripitiya, about 12.09 noon.
