Ranil tells devotees in Madhu no religion promotes hate

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told devotees in Madhu today that no religion promotes hate yet some people use religion to promote violence. The Prime Minister was speaking at the?Madhu church festival held in Mannar today. Speaking further, the Prime Minister said that during the 30 year war the?Madhu church gave refuge to all those affected. Navy Sampath remanded till August 29 over abductions

Chandana Hettiaracchi aka Navy Sampath, was today ordered to be remanded till August 29th by the Fort Magistrate. He was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) yesterday over the abduction of 11 youth in Colombo in 2008. A warrant had been issued earlier by the Colombo Fort Magistrate?s Court for the arrest of?Navy Sampath. Court approval was obtained yesterday to detain?Navy Sampath till today to be questioned.
