AG tells court former JMO can be arrested in Thajudeen case

The Attorney General (AG) has informed court the former Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) can be arrested in the Wasim Thajudeen murder case.

The AG has said the former JMO who conducted the post-mortem on the remains of?Thajudeen can be arrested for misplacing some of the bones.

Thajudeen died on May 17, 2012 in Kirulapone and his body was found in his car which had crashed into a wall.

According to police reports at the time, the rugby player was driving home after attending a party when he lost control of the car and crashed into a wall on Park Road. The police claimed that the car had exploded instantly and burnt the victim.

However suspicions later arose over the manner in which he died and it was believed that he was killed.

During fresh investigations it was found that?former JMO Dr. Ananda Samarasekera had misplaced some of the bones from?Thajudeen’s remains.?(Colombo Gazette)
